About Public Administration
The MPA curriculum is designed to offer students applied managerial skills, analytical capabilities, and familiarity with relevant technologies. Thus, course offerings challenge students to define and to integrate conceptual and practical concerns that shape public administration knowledge and practice. Also, it is the Program's mission to provide a variety of specialized courses so that students are able to select courses that enhance and deepen their particular professional and career interests within the overall guidelines.
The pedagogic philosophy of the MPA Program also is to encourage diversity of views and perspectives on the field; to promote ethical conduct in public service; to nurture greater sense of responsibility and accountability among students as current or future managers; explore and enhance creative leadership skills; foster diversity of views, cultures, and ideas in classroom discussions and in the workplace; develop overall organizational and managerial knowledge and skills. Current faculty members are drawn from Public Administration, Political Science, Public Policy, and Economics.
