The USF College of Education is a large urban college, the 7th largest in the nation, with eight departments, ranked by U.S.News & World Report in the top 17% of all graduate schools of education. We are known for our innovative approaches to today's education challenges, including the Laptop Initiative that prepares pre-service teachers to integrate technology into their curricula.
In addition to awarding undergraduate degrees, the College offers advanced degree programs leading to the Ph.D., Ed.D., Ed.S., M.Ed., M.A., and M.A.T. To meet the demand of local school districts for alternative certification, the College now offers a Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) degree in the following subject areas: Elementary Education, English Education, Mathematics Education with an emphasis either in grades 5-9 or 6-12, Foreign Language Education, Science Education, Social Science Education, and Special Education with an emphasis in Exceptional Student Education.
