ABOUT OPERA
The Opera Workshop and Opera Theatre, currently under the direction of Won Cho, provide instruction in theater techniques to develop the basic skills required by an operatic performer. Students engage in improvisational exercises, stagecraft, stage management, movement, and character development training. Interdisciplinary contributions of lecture hours and special demonstrations of dance, costume, and make-up have been made by faculty and specialists from the Dance and Theatre Departments. Students display their talents in presentations ranging from an evening of scenes to a complete opera with orchestra performed in the USF Theatre Complex assisted by the College of Fine Arts Production Section and its access to theatrical experts.
