The USF Strategic Plan 2013-2018 charts a bold and ambitious course for the university, building on the success of the 2007-2012 Strategic Plan and solidifying USF's position as a high-impact, global research university dedicated to student success.
The new Strategic Plan is the result of a two-year, university-wide collaboration between the USF Board of Trustees, university leadership, faculty, staff, students and community partners. It sets a blueprint for the next five years focused on continuing the university's ambitious drive and catapulting USF to elite status as an American Association of Universities (AAU) member.
Central to the 2013-2018 Strategic Plan are a clearly defined mission and vision for the university; priority goals and strategies; and comprehensive performance measures to gauge the university's progress. The plan is organized around five themes:
Research & Innovation
Expanding discoveries, publications, mentoring and training, and translating research into health and economic benefits locally, nationally and globally.
Recruiting and enrolling college-ready students, awarding financial aid and scholarships, and planning for timely degree completion in a rich and positive teaching and learning environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed.
Exposing students to international perspectives and creating programs that emphasize sustained engagement with foreign academics and professionals, community members and fellow students.
Educating and challenging students to be effective, engaged, ethical leaders committed to sustaining healthy communities and improving quality of life locally and globally.
Attracting key health and technology companies to the Tampa Bay Region, expanding opportunities for entrepreneurial ventures, and partnering with regional, national and global organizations to revive the local economy and expand opportunities for Florida.
