Some graduate programs require new students to attend an orientation session before they are allowed to register. At that time they will learn about program requirements and will receive information regarding course selection. Please review your program's webpage or contact the program to see if you must attend a program orientation.
Graduate Teaching and Research Assistants may also be required to attend an orientation session to learn about their rights and responsibilities as graduate assistants.
Graduate Studies Orientation
Regardless of whether your program has an orientation, all new graduate students are encouraged to attend the Graduate Student Orientation Program offered by the Office of Graduate Studies. There you will learn about the resources and services the University and the Office of Graduate Studies make available to support your education and professional development. It is also a good opportunity to meet students in other graduate programs. Please visit the Graduate Student Orientation Program webpage for more information.
