Transfer Scholarships

2008-2009 Scholarships for Transfer Students -

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions at the University of South Florida offers a number of upper-level transfer student scholarships based on academic merit. These scholarships are available for US citizens, permanent residents and international students. Students must have at least 60 transferable semester credits or an AA degree from a Florida public community college at the time of enrollment at USF.

These awards are reserved for students planning to enter USF for the first time in the Fall or Spring semesters; students entering USF in the Summer will be considered in the Fall scholarship cycle.

These scholarships are highly competitive. The criteria noted for the various awards are used as minimum starting points for consideration; meeting or exceeding the minimum requirements will not guarantee selection. Due to competitive applicant pools, scholarships are awarded on a funds available basis starting with the strongest GPAs.

How to Apply

  1. Complete the application for admission to the University of South Florida by the priority date – April 1 for Summer/Fall semester applicants or November 1 for Spring semester applicants. Students who apply for admission and are admitted to USF after these dates will only be considered if scholarship funds remain after priority awarding. Your application for admission also serves as your scholarship application.
  2. Review your residency classification by checking OASIS. If necessary, please submit an updated residency affidavit by the priority date.
  3. Check individual scholarship criteria for additional requirements.
  4. Continue to send updated credentials, including semester transcripts.
  5. Check the mail! Recipients will be notified by mail and will need to complete a Terms & Conditions form to accept the scholarship offer. Notification of awards will begin in late-October for Spring awards and late-March for Summer/Fall awards.
