Federal Databases
Database Database Synopsis
Federal Register Provides an official daily publication for rules, proposed rules, and notices of Federal agencies and organizations, and executive orders and other presidential documents.
Grants.gov Serves as an official federal grants and contracts search site; provides weekly email service. USF researchers do NOT need to register with Grants.gov to search for funding opportunities. Grants.gov usernames and passwords are only required for grant submissions (note: only the Division of Sponsored Research [DSR] can submit grants via Grants.gov).

National Institute of Health (NIH) Search for funding opportunities and notices
NIH Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) program Provides fellowship awards to enhance the diversity of the health-related workforce. Provides mentored research training while conducting well-defined research projects in scientific health-related fields. Note: check availability. Last offered 2016.
Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) Functions as a government-wide compendium of federal assistance programs. Suggested search tips include entering "Graduate Fellowship" in the keyword search, using the Advanced Search Form for a more specific search, and/or clicking on the "Agencies" section to view programs by agency. Once you locate the Federal Program of interest, contact the office that administers the program for application instructions.
Fulbright U.S. Student Program Offers funding for study/research awards, English Teaching Assistant (ETA) Awards, and National Geographic Digital Storytelling Fellowships. The 2018-2019 Fulbright U.S. Student Competition is open (October 6, 2017 deadline)
Presidential Management Fellows Program (PMF): Department of Homeland Security Designed for graduate-level students, this program aims to attract to the federal service outstanding men and women from a variety of academic disciplines and career paths who have a clear interest in, and commitment to, excellence in the leadership and management of public policies and programs.

American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) Functions as a private, nonprofit federation of scholarly organizations supporting scholars in the humanities and social sciences at the doctoral and postdoctoral levels.
American Heart Association (AHA) Check the sites pre-doctoral and postdoctoral fellowship grant deadlines.
Ford Foundation Fellowship Programs Provides pre-doctoral, dissertation, and postdoctoral fellowships.
Hertz Fellowship Application Offers annual graduate fellowships (which opens in August) to students of the applied physical, biological, and engineering sciences who are willing to morally commit to make their skills available to the US in time of national emergency.
The K. Patricia Cross Future Leaders Award Recognizes graduate students who show exemplary promise as future leaders of higher education; who demonstrate a commitment to developing academic and civic responsibility in themselves and others; and whose work reflects a strong emphasis on teaching and learning (Association of American Colleges & Universities).
Boren Fellowships Provides graduate student opportunities to add language component to education.
Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation Offers travel and research grants to assist in completing research with dissertation writing

American Philosophical Society: Lewis & Clark
Awards small research grants ($1,000 to $6,000) in nine grant or fellowship programs in a wide range of fields: Franklin, Lewis and Clark, Lewis and Clark Astrobiology, Library Digital Humanities Fellowship, Library Fellowship, and Phillips programs as well as larger awards ($40,000 to $60,000) for the Daland, Library Long-Term Pre-Doctoral Fellowship, and Mellon Post-Doctoral Fellowship programs   check for current funding availability)
