Camps & Programs

Whatever your passion may be, the USF College of The Arts invites students in middle school and high school to pursue an interest in creativity and performance at one of our exciting summer camps and pre-college programs. Participants will experience rich cultural and creative activities that enhance their skills and explore new horizons. Through hands-on learning in a challenging and supportive environment, students will develop new techniques, new friendships, and new experiences. Both resident and commuter options are available on some of our programs for students from outside the Tampa Bay area. We welcome your interest and hope to see you at a future summer camp!

Music

COMMUNITY MUSIC PROJECT, Classes and LESSONS

Study with USF School of Music Artist Faculty or vetted USF music majors. Studenst of all ages and levels welcome!  Classes are open until filled, but lessons are enrolled on an ongoing basis. Complete our interest form, or send any questions to CommunityMusic@usf.edu.

Theatre & Dance

USF SUMMER THEATRE LAB

Calling All Revolting Children!
July 8-20, 2024

Join USF Theatre for a musical theatre focused 2-week camp.

Our Summer Theatre Lab gives rising 6th -8th grade students the industry experience of performing and rehearsing a full musical under the guidance of USF’s outstanding faculty.

High School Design Students

Are you a high school student planning on applying to college for Design/Tech and want a full design credit on your resume? As part of our Summer Theatre Lab, we are inviting high school students to apply for: Lighting Designer, Costume Designer, Scenic/Projection Design, Props Design, Dramaturg, as well as Assistant Stage Manager, Assistant Director, Assistant Choreographer, and Assistant Music Director.

For the tuition fee, those chosen will receive guidance and mentorship from USF professionals, a full design credit, professional photography of their work for their portfolios, workshops with experts on resume and portfolio presentation, and parking costs covered. Interested students need to submit a resume of their experience, a letter of support from a teacher, and any portfolio materials they might have.

USF SUMMER DANCE WEEK

The USF Summer Dance Week is designed as a week-long series of intensive classes and workshops. Participants can choose to attend the full week, full day(s), or drop-in to specific classes or workshops. 

Each day will be structured to have 3-4 classes in a variety of forms and styles - These will include African dance, ballet, contemporary/modern dance, improvisation, jazz, tap, commercial dance, composition, and more! For those that register for the entire week, there will be an option to be in the end-of-intensive performance.

Open to all dancers age 10+ with previous dance training.
