Vehicle Tag & Title

All vehicles must be registered by the Procurement Department.  Contact the Procurement Specialist if the dealer is resistant to this police.  813 974-5729

STEP 1 - DETERMINE FEE

When a department requires a vehicle tag, title and registration the following should be sent to the Vehicle Procurement Specialist, SVC 1073:

NEW VEHICLE

USFSP and USFSM please send the original documents through the courier.

Fees vary depending upon the vehicle type and weight

REPLACEMENT OF TAG

TRAILERS EXCEEDING 2,000

STEP 2 – PAYMENT

The preferred payment method is PCard. Please email the Vehicle Procurement Specialist with the information of the person who will be going to the DMV to use their PCard. Follow the template below:

After the Vehicle Procurement Specialist has verified that all the paperwork is in order s/he will reach out to you to set up a time to pick up the paperwork for the DMV.

For USFSP and USFSM we will mail the completed packet back through the currier and email the contact person to notify them it is on the way. Once the department receives the packet they will need to email vehicle specials letting them know it was received.

If there is no PCard in the department or a PCard holder cannot make it to the DMV please call the DMV and get a fee estimate. Then follow the steps below for a payment request form. This process is much long and should only be used if there is not a PCard available

STEP 3 – RETURN THE ORIGINAL PAPERWORK

The day the department receives the originals from the DMV they must be dropped off in person to the Vehicle Procurement Specialist in SVC 1073. S/He will give you copies of the title and registration at that time.

When USFSP or USFSM receive the originals form the DMV they will need to send them with a copy of the tag to the vehicle specialist through the courier. They will also need to send an email so the vehicle specials notify them it is in the mail.

RECEIPT OF REGISTRATION – Only used for payment request form

The department will receive a tag and registration approximately 3-6 weeks after the day it was mailed to the DMV.
