Director for the Corporate Mentor Program, J.R. Haworth specializes in advising students from the CMP and First Generation Bulls. As the director for the CMP, a mentorship program that places current USF first generation students with corporate executives from the Tampa Bay area, Haworth oversees specific development programming and events for these students. This multi-faceted approach to development helps to prepare students to become leaders in the business world. He also teaches a specialized University Experience course for First Generation Bulls students.
Haworth graduated from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut in 2001. While there he was a three year letter winner in football, who served as captain in his final season. He also ran track for Trinity and holds the 100m record. Prior to transferring to Trinity, Haworth attended the University of Florida. After graduating from Trinity, he continued his education at Butler University earning an MBA with a concentration in finance.
Prior to joining Muma College of Business, Haworth chose to center his career choices on his two passions: business and mentoring. He coached football at the collegiate and high school level, taught AP Economics and Government, worked as an analyst for Roche Diagnostics, and was an account manager for a small die-casting business. A certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Haworth regularly donates time to train underprivileged youth in the Tampa Bay area. He is also involved with Relay for Life.
