Joe Mohr is a visiting assistant professor in the Finance Department teaching the Applied Securities Analysis and Advanced Portfolio Management classes. Prior to joining USF, Mohr owned and operated a financial consulting firm focused on complex financial modeling, capital structure, valuation and mergers & acquisitions for private, public, and pre-public entities.
Mohr has also served as chief financial officer for a NASDAQ-listed entity and a privately held exploration and production firm. He has served on the board of directors of internet, energy and telecommunication firms domestically and internationally. He also worked as a managing consultant in the energy, chemicals and financial services industries for Gemini Consulting. His current research interests cover the impact of individuals and information on asset prices including advertising, social media, real estate listings, and other unique asset pricing mechanisms.
Mohr has a PhD from USF and holds an MBA from the University of Chicago. He has taught investments and corporate finance at the university level for over ten years. His work has been presented at the Financial Management Association, European Finance Association, Midwest Finance Association, and Southwestern Finance Association conferences.
