Keith Morelli is a communications and marketing officer for the University of South Florida, working specifically for the USF Muma College of Business. His job responsibilities include writing for the college's website and monthly newsletter; media relations, helping to coordinate special events, social media and other functions of the office.
Prior to joining USF in October 2016, Morelli worked as a reporter with The Tampa Tribune for 27 years, where he covered a wide range of beats from crime and courts to the environment and wildlife. He was the general assignment reporter for the metro desk when the newspaper was shut down in May 2016. Prior to that, Morelli was the Citrus County bureau chief for the Ocala Star-Banner.
While at the Tribune, Morelli received awards for writing and reporting and covered events that included Super Bowl XLIII in Tampa, former President Barack Obama's 2010 visit to Tampa, the 2011 opening of the Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg and protesters at the 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa.
Morelli graduated from USF with a bachelor's degree in 1977, majoring in mass communications and English. In 1989, he attended a nuclear energy fellowship at the Knight Center for Specialized Journalism at the University of Maryland.
