Vita

GJ de Vreede is a professor in the Information Systems Decision Sciences Department. He also is a university lecturer in management, communication & IT at the Management Center Innsbruck, Austria. He has taught undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and executive courses in areas such as agile software development, systems analysis & design, teamwork/facilitation, and research methods.

His research focuses on crowdsourcing, collaborative risk & security management, Collaboration Engineering, and the facilitation of teamwork. His research has appeared in journals such as Journal of Management Information Systems, Management Information Systems Quarterly Executive, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, Small Group Research, and the Communications of the ACM.

He received both a MS in Information Systems and a PhD in Systems Engineering from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. Currently, he is serving on the editorial boards of the Journal of the Association of Information Systems, the Journal of the Midwest Association for Information Systems, Group Decision & Negotiation, Paradigm, and the International Journal on e-Collaboration. In 2011, he received the GDN Section Award from the INFORMS Group Decision & Negotiation Section for accomplishments and contributions to both to the research area of group decision and negotiation as well as to the INFORMS GDN section.

De Vreede's professional service includes the program committees of several conferences such as ICIS, HICSS, CRIWG, and GDN. He has served on the editorial boards of journals such as MIS Quarterly, Journal of the Association of Information Systems, European Journal of Information Systems, Group Decision & Negotiation, and International Journal of e-Collaboration. He has edited special issues in journals such as Journal of Management Information Systems, Communications of the ACM, and Journal of the Association of Information Systems. He was a member of the Joint ACM/AIS Information Systems Undergraduate Curriculum Development Task Force for IS2010.
