Florida Export Series to help grow export market

TAMPA (September 25, 2014) – With the largest port in the state of Florida, Tampa is the perfect place to break into the international market. The Florida SBDC at the University of South Florida will present the Florida Export Series for local entrepreneurs who want to break into the export market, beginning October 7 at Port Tampa Bay.

The Series is comprised of three sessions:

  • Introduction to International Trade (October 7) – Export readiness, market selection and research, payment methods and financing

  • Dealing with the Export Market (October 14) – A short course on the international business culture. Topics include: understanding cultural differences, customary etiquette, protocol, communicating across cultures, gift giving and dealing with interpreters.

  • Export Documentation and Compliance (October 21) – Topics include: harmonized codes, free trade agreements, licensing and compliance with U.S. government agencies, export documentation and INCOTERMS.

Speakers include Selma Canas and Eileen Rodriguez, both NASBITE Certified Global Business Professionals. Cost is $120 for entire series. Online registration required at www.SBDCTampaBay.com.
