2017 Summer Program for Business Students in Florence, Italy
Scholarships available for pre-accounting and accounting students
Ladies and Gentlemen,
The Muma College of Business and USF World are sponsoring its 2017 six week Summer Program in the birthplace of the Renaissance - beautiful Florence, Italy. The Lynn Pippenger School of Accountancy is participating by offering "BUL 3320 – Business Law" in the program. As you know, Business Law is a "Core Course" required for all business majors. The course will be modified to include a comparative law section discussing the differences between the Italian and American legal systems. We will also explore the development of the Italian organized crime syndicate "La Costa Nostra" and how this criminal enterprise migrated to the United States and became the Mafia crime families. In addition, we will conduct two "Field Learning Experiences" (FLE) around the Tuscany region of Italy. Students enrolled in two courses in the program will participate in four FLE's. Students will be living in apartments in the neighborhood surrounding the host University with ample opportunity to explore Florence daily. Additional information concerning this program is at tinyurl.com/BizInFlorence17.
Twenty $1,000 scholarships to assist pre-accounting and accounting students who have earned a "B" or better in ACG 2021 and ACG 2071 taken at USF Tampa are available through the generosity of the USF Lynn Pippenger School of Accountancy Advisory Council.
