Certificate in Sales

USF's Sales Certificate is designed for non-business majors. The Sales Certificate is ideal for students in STEM disciplines such as engineering, computer science, or biomedical studies. The key benefit from this specialized area of study is attaining advanced professional sales instruction. This development of skills and knowledge is critical for professionals to be successful in sales or business careers. This recognition of the student's achievements in professional sales can help them fast-track their career, improve their current job performance, or open new career opportunities. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that in Florida business to business sales people earn an average of $75,785 per year and sales managers earn $125,810. According to the Center on Education and the Workforce sales is among the top five most popular occupations for all majors.

Many of the students that pursue the Sales Concentration also participate in co-curricular activities supported by the Center for Marketing and Sales Innovation. Programing provided through the center include sales competitions, skill development workshops, engagement with businesses, and student clubs. Many of these programs are delivered in specialized labs located on the St Petersburg and Tampa campuses. The labs on both campuses have interactions rooms with remote video and audio recording capabilities that are used for sales training and marketing focus group research. In addition to interaction rooms, the Tampa lab also has 20 individual stations. The individual stations are equipped with biometric sensors (facial expression, galvanic skin response, eye tracking, and EEG) for neuromarketing research and sales development equipment.
