Be A Part of the Excitement!
Career & Internship Fair
What is Bulls Connect?
Bulls Connect is the new name for our career and internship fair events in the fall and spring semesters! It was chosen through a student voting process that ran in late March and early April of 2018 and had more than 1,100 students participating.
We are excited about this new name and how it captures all of the amazing things our students and alumni can do at a career fair: network with employers, learn about career options, and explore internship and employment opportunities! We can't wait for our first fair under this new name and to see how all of our USF Bulls, Connect!
What is happening to the fairs?
Over the past few years, our Career and Internship Fairs have shown steady growth in attendance by employers who are looking to hire USF students and alumni. Our partners at the Marshall Student Center have helped us to manage this growth, but we've finally reached a point where the MSC can't fit everyone inside.
Beginning in the Fall semester, we will be combining the All Majors fair and the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fair into a single fair ... and we're moving the newly combined fair to the Sun Dome! This new location will allow us to have even more employers on-campus providing you with opportunities to network and find your next internship or job, all on a single day. The location will also provide space to interact with employers comfortably, without feeling crowded, as well as additional spaces for things like onsite interviews or employer meet-ups.
The new combined fair is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, September 20, 2018.
The Accounting Career and Internship Fair will remain at the Marshall Student Center for Fall 2018. It is tentatively scheduled for Friday, September 21, 2018. Times for both fairs will be announced at a later date.
What was the contest?
USF students were presented with six pre-selected options to vote on for the new name of our career fair. When completing the electronic ballot, students could also enter to win one of eight Amazon card prizes, provided by our partners at Raymond James. There were five (5) $25.00 gift cards; two (2) $100.00 gift cards; and one (1) $250.00 gift card available as prizes.
Any currently enrolled University of South Florida students who were currently enrolled at the time of the contest were eligible to vote on the new name; to be eligible to win one of the gift cards, students had to provide their first and last name, USF email address, and their university ID number ("U number") in the spaces provided on the online entry form. Alumni, employees of the University of South Florida or Raymond James, and students who work for the office of Career Services were not eligible to win. Students could vote one time during the voting period, which began on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., and ended at 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 (all times are Eastern). Multiple entries were deleted.
Winners were chosen at random by the office of Career Services and were announced at a name reveal event via the Career Services' Facebook page on Friday, April 13, 2018; winners were also notified directly via their USF email account after the name reveal event. Winners did not need to be present to win. Odds of winning were dependent on the total number of entries received. A list of the winners can be obtained by contacting Career Services Communications and Marketing via email: CSMarketing@usf.edu.
