Classics

Classics at USF is a language-based, interdisciplinary humanities field. We provide instruction in the Greek and Latin languages, and translation courses that focus on the study of Greek and Roman civilization, literature, mythology, philosophy, and religion. Our majors are of particular interest to students who wish to teach the languages, to those who plan graduate study in a humanistic discipline, and to those who want an undergraduate major that focuses on the ancient civilizations that are the cornerstone of the Western Tradition.   Please note that some of the careers below will require further education.
