Gerontology is the study of the process of human aging in all its many aspects: physical, psychological, and social. Because of tremendous growth in the older adult population in Florida and the nation, there are numerous employment opportunities for students graduating with a degree in Gerontology. These opportunities include Mental Health Centers, Federal, State and Regional Agencies and Offices in Aging, Community Service Administration, Social Work, Nursing Homes and Senior Centers, and Teaching or Research at Colleges and Universities.
