How to Apply
PhD students are admitted once each year in the Fall. Applications for admissions along with all supporting documents must be received by January 15th.
All applicants must complete the 'VZ College Application'.
Unofficial transcripts are sufficient when applying, but official transcripts are required to enroll.
You must take the "General Test". Direct your official scores to USF Criminology; our institution code is 005828 and our department is 2202. For the application process, a copy of the unofficial report is sufficient and can be uploaded within the application.
The following supporting documents must be uploaded into the application by the deadline:
- Three (3) letters of recommendation speaking to the applicant's academic capabilities. (Letters from professors are strongly preferred).
- A statement of purpose detailing: (a) reasons for seeking a PhD degree in criminology, (b) research interests, and (c) future career plans.
- A sample of written work providing evidence of the applicant's academic abilities. If an applicant has completed a master's thesis, this should be submitted.
