Research Specialization Areas - Adult Neurogenics

Speech, voice, language and swallowing function rely on the precise coordination and integrity of the nervous system. Damage to the central and / or peripheral nervous system can result in dysarthria, apraxia of speech, dysphagia and aphasia. The area of neurogenics includes the study of normal neural mechanisms of speech, swallowing and language function and dysfunction in diseased states and neural mechanisms of recovery and rehabilitation.
