Program Requirements

To complete the requirements for the degree, students must have registered as full-time students for at least two academic years (consecutive Fall and Spring semesters). In addition, students must:

 

  • Complete 90 hours of post-baccalaureate coursework. These 90 hours will include a minimum of:

  • For students admitted with a master's degree, transcripts will be evaluated to determine coursework that will be applicable toward the 90 hours of credit required for the doctoral program.
  • Complete and pass the qualifying exam.
  • Complete and defend the dissertation. The dissertation will reflect a program of research with typically three studies that are formatted for or submitted for publication in scholarly journals. This body of work should reflect original research designed and conducted by the student under the supervision of one or more faculty advisors.
