Assistant Professor

Position Description: The University of South Florida, School of Social Work invites applications for an Assistant Professor position. We encourage applicants who are interested in joining our School of Social Work scholarly faculty in educating social work professionals and contributing to priority areas of research emphasizing health (e.g., HIV/AIDS, violence), mental health (e.g., trauma, substance abuse), children and families, aging, social justice (homelessness, schools, corrections) and cultural diversity as it relates to all of these areas. As part of the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences, members of our faculty engage in innovative behavioral interdisciplinary, translational, and implementation research focused on finding solutions which lead to improvements in the quality of life, health and the safety of diverse populations and communities. The responsibilities of this position include: teach doctoral, graduate, and undergraduate level courses in Social Work; assist in Ph.D. student research and dissertation studies; and engage in scholarship, research, grantsmanship, and service. MSW Online Program Instructor/ Field Coordinator

Minimum Qualifications: MSW from a CSWE accredited School of Social Work. Two years of full-time or the equivalent of part-time post-graduate social work practice experience, experience working in community agencies, as well as two years of full-time or part-time teaching experience in social work education.

Preferred Qualifications: Administrative experience in social work education and/or leadership in a human service agency. Experience in creating and developing community partnerships. Evaluation experience consistent with CSWE accreditation standards. Online teaching experience in social work education. Two years clinical experience. Supervisory experience with students or staff. State licensure in any state.

Responsibilities: The position will be involved with the recruitment of agency field directors and partnering agencies at new locations in coordination with the Director of Field Education for the School of Social Work. The position is dedicated to providing instruction in the MSW program and contributing to the service needs in the School.

Salary: Negotiable, depending upon qualifications.

MSW Online Instructor/Chair 

Minimum Qualifications: MSW from a CSWE accredited School of Social Work. Two years of full-time or the equivalent of part-time postgraduate social work practice experience, as well as two years of full-time or part-time teaching experience in social work education.

Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate in Social Work (Ph.D. or DSW) and/or related field. Administrative experience in social work education and/or leadership in a human service agency. Experience in curriculum development, staff development, and training and evaluation. Experience with assessment of program outcomes. Familiarity with CSWE accreditation standards. Online teaching experience in social work education.

Position Description: The position is dedicated to providing instruction in the MSW program and contributing to the service needs in the School. The On-Line Program Chair of the MSW Program is responsible for the administration of the On-line Master of Social Work Program. Specific responsibilities include the following:

  1. Oversight of the MSW student admission process for the online program.
  2. Maintenance of an accurate and reliable record and report system for the online program.
  3. Represents the MSW online program at School, College, and University meetings of councils, committees and other entities as necessary and appropriate.
  4. Coordination of activities with the MSW Chair to assure the effective operation of the MSW program.
    Direction of the program assessment and review to insure program quality and determine outcome effectiveness to be coordinated with the MSW Chair.
