Study Abroad: Belize

Students provide support to the Deaf community of beautiful, tropical, Belize. Students who participate in this experience will work as a group with host organizations to provide a week-long workshop on the use of sign language and the importance of Deaf culture and of Deaf community empowerment in San Pedro, Belize. In students' off time, students will be able to explore the rain forests and coral reefs of the one of the most beautiful natural habitats on earth. Students arrive on a Saturday and enjoy two days of relaxation and preparation for the week. Monday through Friday, students support the workshop and will have opportunities to lead groups and give presentations. In the evenings, students can enjoy the charm of San Pedro while strolling the Caribbean beaches and exploring the small-town destination. On Friday night, the students will enjoy a farewell celebration to recognize all the good work that they have accomplished.
