Global Healthcare: Solutions to Homelessness in the U.S, Ireland, Europe (Wales)

This will be an intensive eight weeks (two weeks on-site in Ireland), three credit course examining the Social Policies, Planning and Practices in the U.S. and Ireland with a special study focus on solutions to homelessness. The interdisciplinary nature of the program will include, behavioral healthcare, housing, social work, primary healthcare, criminal justice and sociology. Several leading experts on homelessness from the U.S. and Ireland/Europe will be collaborating faculty, along with field visits to successful community-based programs in a successful Housing First program in Dublin. The two-week on-site program will be anchored at the historic and prestigious Trinity College - Dublin for the first week and in Galway/Killarney and the West Coast of Ireland for week two. Educational excursions will be included in the academic package and led by a retired Irish educator who has worked with USF on numerous occasions.
