Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
This program builds upon the tools learned in a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt program in managing quality projects utilizing the fundamentals of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
One of the key roles of a Black Belt or Master Black Belt is to be a mentor and coach to Green Belts and other team members. As part of this program, students will have opportunities to teach topics simulating what they must do in the real world. The program is designed to help students prepare for the University of South Florida Black Belt Certification.
The Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB) certification program is broken out into 10 sessions. Students select and work on a real problem while applying learned techniques and tools to effectively resolve the problem and meet specified project goals. Students will utilize advanced statistical software and learn additional tools to enhance skills.

What You Will Learn
This program aligns with the University of South Florida Black Belt requirements, utilizing quality deployment methodologies and problem solving techniques to reduce process variation through the DMAIC process: Define a project, Measure the process through data collection and process reviews, Analyze the data utilizing statistical tools, Improve the process by creating effective solutions, and Control to ensure the process continues to meet its output objectives. By the end of the program, students will have progressed through several advanced tools to improve a process and meet project objectives. (80 hours)
What You Will Earn
You will earn continuing education contact hours/PDUs and you will receive a letter of completion, which may apply for professional development credit. Upon successfully completing this program, you will receive a Certification from USF Continuing Education.

In order to be considered for the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt program, students must be certified in Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or have attended and passed the USF Continuing Education Lean Six Sigma Green Belt course, or have 2 years of process improvement experience.
