Senior Vice President, Business and Finance
John Long, a University of South Florida alumnus with a Bachelor's of Arts in Business Management and Master's Degrees in Human Resource Management and Strategic Studies serves as a key member of the President's senior leadership team and oversees the university's business, administrative, audit & compliance, public safety, and IT functions. Long retired in June 2011 as Mission Support Group Commander for the 11th Wing at Andrews Air Force Base, a post he'd held since 2009. In that role, Long led a wide array of services supporting five Air Force wings, as well as providing support for the U.S. Navy, Army, Coast Guard and other high-level government agencies. Also falling under his responsibility was the storied base's $80 million budget for fire, rescue, public works, contract, vehicle operations, maintenance, shipping, security and canine support. His most high-profile duties, however, involved providing direct support services in logistics, infrastructure and security for the President of the United States, the Vice President, members of the Cabinet and Congress and foreign heads of state.
