teacher with students studying a world map

Date: Tuesday, March 7, 2017
Time: 5:30 PM
Location: TECO Hall - USF College of Education

Join the USF College of Education for an information session on our middle (5-9) and secondary (6-12) education programs in math, science, English, foreign language, and social science. During the session, you will hear from academic advisors, Clinical Education Coordinator Kate Boney and a panel of secondary education students who will share about what it's like in the program.

Topics to be covered include:

  • An overview of the secondary education program, its learning outcomes and course requirements
  • The clinical component of a degree in education — and what it's like to intern in a classroom
  • Which courses prepare graduates to be confident and effective in their first years of teaching
  • Skills students gain that are transferrable to careers beyond teaching in the classroom
  • The immediate employment opportunities available to our graduates after completing their degree
