Dr. Dana Zeidler on "Socioscientific Issues as Functional Scientific Literacy for
All: The Primacy of Morality."
About the Speaker: Dr. Zeidler is a faculty member in the Department of Teaching and Learning in the USF College of Education. Dana L. Zeidler joined USF in 1996 and currently serves as the Program Coordinator for Science Education. His research program incorporates several pedagogical approaches into a theoretical framework using Socioscientific Issues as a means to facilitate scientific literacy. Dr. Zeidler has authored more than 90 journal articles and book chapters, presented more than 110 conference papers, and has given keynote addresses and international talks around the world. In addition, he has been awarded more than $2 million in externally funded grants and contracts to advance the study of scientific literacy, and he also serves as Co-Editor of the Journal of Research in Science Teaching.
