Our Elementary Teacher Residency Program is a competitive, residency-based program designed to develop teaching candidates for elementary classrooms. The program features a school and university faculty-mentored residency experience in which students’ coursework is embedded in field experiences within residency schools. This program requires full-time registration each semester. including summer semester, as well as a year-long residency. Students in this program commit to a 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. teacher work day.
Our Elementary Education Cohort Program is designed to develop teaching candidates for elementary classrooms. This cohort-based program includes a field experience each semester within one of our 20 partnership schools. There is a tight connection between coursework and field experiences. There is an opportunity to build relationships and learn with other USF preservice teachers as a member of a cohort that serves as a system of support and community of learners for two years. The program requires full-time registration each semester including summer. Admission to this program is limited to the Fall and Spring semesters only.
