Admission Requirements

To be admitted to the doctoral program, students must provide the following documents to the doctoral program coordinator (Dr. Pat Jones):

  1. A current Curriculum Vita (resume)
  2. Three letters of reference from individuals who can attest to your ability to do graduate work and/or your excellence as a classroom teacher
  3. A written statement of your professional goals. This statement should be biographical in nature, describing in detail your motivation and experiences leading to a commitment for doctoral study and what you hope to accomplish through advanced study. (3-5 pages)
  4. Transcripts from previous academic work
  5. A writing sample. This could be an article published or a paper prepared for a previous class that demonstrates your capacity as a thinker and writer.
  6. Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores with a minimum score of 149V; 149Q and 4.0 writing
  7. Proof of three years of successful teaching experience at an accredited school
