Master of Science

Curriculum

The Master of Science (M.S.) program in Exercise Science at the University of South Florida provides a general degree program with an opportunity to add one of two concentrations: Strength and Conditioning or Health and Wellness. However, students can receive a general M.S. degree in Exercise Science without a concentration. 

Credit hours: The degree program is 33 hours with a required 7 hours of core courses and 12 hours of content specialization courses. Additional hours to reach 33 total credit hours are taken from other specialization courses or from suggested electives. A thesis is not required but offered as an elective.  

The degree provides thesis and non-thesis options:

Option 1: Students complete a comprehensive exam project during the last semester of study.

Option 2: Students complete a research thesis project. Students interested in registering for thesis credit must have the approval of a faculty member that agrees to serve as the thesis chairperson.
