LITE is a magazine dedicated to celebrating innovations in educator preparation led by the College of Education at the University of South Florida in conjunction with their school and school district partners.
The work highlighted within the magazine offer illustrations of clinically-rich educator preparation. Clinically- rich preparation calls for linking theory, exemplary pedagogy, and school and classroom practice. During the last decade, researchers, national accreditation organizations, state and national policy makers, and professional organizations have advocated for clinically-rich preparation. In response, the focus on clinically-rich educator preparation has become a hallmark of our college's educator preparation.
Within each issue, we present clinically-rich programs, experiences, and research focused on uniting theory and practice. Our work has led to the development of more effective educators for the Greater Tampa Bay Area, the state, and the nation. The University of South Florida is uniquely positioned to conduct research related to preparing educators for urban schools and understanding the impact of educational innovation on student and teacher learning.
