Community-based Learning Expense Minigrant:
We are making funds available to service learning faculty to cover actual expenses incurred in teaching a service learning course.
Amount: up to $500 plus an additional $250 stipend upon completion of the course and grant requirements
Purpose: to cover actual expenses associated with development/implementation of a service learning course. Some examples: costs for travel to site or at USF; costs for background checks; supplies used in class; datasets needed for student projects; copying or printing costs for "deliverables." These funds cannot be used for food.
Eligibility: faculty (full or part time) and PhD students teaching service learning courses. All projects must have an indentified community partner whose support is indicated in a letter. Any applicants who have received previous grants from the OCE must be up to date on their reporting.
Grants available: 5 each semester as long as budget permits.
Deadline: Spring semester: November 15; Summer semester: March 15; Fall semester: May 1.
