GCP Student Leaders

Students who are awarded a GCP Study Abroad Scholarship are expected to serve as a GCP Student Leader during the academic year following their study abroad and complete the award during that academic year. GCP Student Leaders serve as role models for other students while pursuing the Global Citizen Award themselves.

GCP Student Leaders are expected to:
Complete all Global Citizen Award requirements during the academic year following their trip if not yet already completed
o Submit Study Abroad/Away Pre-approval assignment prior to the Pre-Departure Social
o Submit Study Abroad/Away Documentation assignment while abroad or within 7 days of return
o Submit Study Abroad/Away Reflection assignment within 30 days of return from trip abroad
o Submit Final Reflection assignment by March 15, 2019

Support the Global Citizens Project during the academic year:
o Complete GCP Student Leader training(s)
o Maintain an active role in the GCP Student Association and assist with campus-wide GCP programming
o Liaise between the GCP and USF students, campus partners, faculty, and community members by presenting, fundraising, and fulfilling other duties as assigned
o Present 30 minute and 1-hour long information sessions to Academic Foundations, English Composition, GCP certified, foreign language, and other requested courses
o Advise/mentor other students pursuing the Global Citizen Award

Some weeks may require more hours than others, but in general GCP Student Leaders should expect to commit approximately five hours per week.

Congratulations to our 2017-2018 GCP Student Leaders! We can't wait to send you off on your summer study abroad trips and work with you next year!
