The mission of the Honors College advising team is to empower students to acquire, create and contribute knowledge by promoting diverse learning experiences, active goal setting and reflection, and involvement in the university and global community.
Academic advising is a vital component of the Honors College experience. We partner with departmental advisors to ensure the highest level of degree completion.
Our advising staff is here for you! We want to help you define and achieve your goals so you can make the most out of your time at USF.
We strongly encourage you to make an appointment with your Honors College Advisor each semester so we may get to know you and help you achieve your goals, both academic and personal. First-year students must see their assigned Honors Academic Advisor during the Fall semester, prior to registering for Spring classes, and again in the Spring semester, prior to registering for Summer and Fall classes.
Advising through the Honors College does not replace advising through academic departments. Be sure to visit your major advisor as well.
You can make an appointment to see your Honors Advisor by calling (813) 974-3087. You may also stop by the student assistant desk next time you are in the office, or use the E-Scheduler to make an appointment online. A walk-in Honors College advisor is also on duty every weekday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and again from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for quick questions or help. Walk-In advisors will NOT remove AA holds, create 4-year academic plans, or graduation checks. Please make an appointment for those needs.
Please see the "Advisors" section of our staff contact list for contact information and bios of Honors College advisors.
