OLLI-USF Hosts 2014 Fall Open House
OLLI-USF invites you to their 2014 Fall Open House, Tuesday, Sept. 16 at the Centro
in Tampa. Crossword puzzle maven Merl Reagle will speak on "The Healthy
Addiction: An Inside Look at Crossword Puzzles."
Since 1985, Reagle has created Sunday puzzles for the San Francisco Chronicle, which he syndicates to more than 50 Sunday newspapers, including the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times and The Philadelphia Inquirer. Reagle made his first crossword when he was six years old and sold a puzzle to The New York Times at age 16, a feat that at the time made him the youngest published Times puzzle constructor. He has been featured by numerous news outlets and in 2008 was a "special guest voice" on an episode of The Simpsons called "Homer and Lisa Exchange Cross Words."
Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at USF (OLLI-USF) is a membership organization of older adults who join together to form a community of learners. There are no tests or grades, and most courses have no prerequisites. As we get older, finding opportunity for self-discovery and continued growth can become more and more difficult. At OLLI-USF every course, lecture or event is an avenue for intellectual enrichment and social connectivity where you can discover new interests, explore new directions and forge new relationships with fellow OLLI members.
OLLI members and nonmembers of all ages are welcome and light refreshments will be served.
Register for the OLLI Open House.
