Cyber Defense Boot Camp

The cost of this program is $950

Overview:
During this weeklong program, presented by the Florida Center for Cybersecurity (FC2), computer savvy high school students will engage with the USF Whitehatters Computer Security Club to learn hands-on techniques focused on defending an infrastructure from attackers. Participants will develop perspective on the growing field of cybersecurity and gain career insight from industry professionals. At the conclusion of this fast-paced program, students will have an opportunity to test their skills against a controlled cyber attack simulation.

Learning Outcomes:
Students will:
• Work in FC2's high-tech lab to learn a variety of techniques to defend an infrastructure from attackers and apply the techniques they've learned to protect computers and networks
• Gain valuable experience in real-world computer security fundamentals
• Learn about career opportunities in cybersecurity
• Develop relationships with like-minded high school students and become part of a student driven, grass-roots technology network

Application:
Open to rising high school juniors and seniors with a strong grasp of technology and whose future academic interests may include: computer science, computer engineering, information systems or information technology.
