INTO USF Soars Into 2016
The 6th anniversary of INTO USF brings more diversity to campus
As the Spring 2016 term started at the University of South Florida, so did the journeys of over 300 international students. New Pathway students were welcomed through INTO USF's orientation and beach party, getting the chance to connect with their new classmates. The Fall 2015 semester ended strong for INTO USF, with 93 percent of undergraduate participants successfully completing their program, going straight onto their chosen major of study.
With this semester's enrollment, USF now boasts about 4,000 international students from 139 different countries. It has the 32nd largest international student population for the 2015-2016 school year according to Times Higher Education World University.
The increasing number of international students is helping to shape the university as a strong global partner. With the introduction of the university's new Global Citizen's Project, the university will be even more focused on study-abroad scholarships and professional development workshops to aid international students in their global awareness.
As international student numbers continue to grow, so will USF's commitment to global and cultural partnerships. "This campus has changed dramatically; the feel and flavor of this campus has really changed with 75 percent of the world represented on campus" Glen Besterfield, Director of INTO USF Center and Assistant Vice President for International Admissions and Global Partnerships, says.
