Configuring Mac Mail

To change the settings on an existing account

1. Open Mail.
2. When prompted, enter your @usf.edu email password, check the box to Remember this password in my keychain, and click OK.
3. Mail may ask you for your credentials a second time. If it does, repeat the previous step.

To set up a new account on Mac Mail 5 or 6

1. Open Mail.
   a. If this is your first account in Mail, the Welcome to Mail page appears. Go to step 2.
   b. If this is not your first account in Mail:
      i. Open the Mail menu and click Preferences.
      ii. On the Accounts tab, click + at the bottom of the navigation pane to open the Add Account window.
2. Enter the following information on the Add Account window:
   a. Full Name: enter the name you want to display to people you send email to
   b. Email Address: enter your @usf.edu email address
   c. Password: enter your @usf.edu email password
3. Click Continue. Mail will test your connection.
4. In the Account Summary box, click Create.

To setup a new account on Mac Mail 7

1. Open Mail.
    a. If this is your first account in Mail, the "Choose a mail account to add" page appears. Go to step 2.
    b. If this is not your first account in Mail:
        i. Open the Mail menu and click Preferences.
        ii. On the Accounts tab, click + at the bottom of the navigation pane to open the "Choose a mail account to add" window.
2. Select "Exchange" and click Continue.
3. Enter the following information on the Add Account window:
    a. Name: enter the name you want to display to people you send email to
    b. Email Address: enter your @usf.edu email address
    c. Password: enter your @usf.edu email password
3. Click Continue. Mail will test your connection.
4. In the Account Summary box, click Continue.
5. Click Done.
