Glo-Bull Beginnings Week
*This information is current for students beginning at USF in Spring 2015.
Glo-Bull Beginnings is a program for undergraduate, international students to prepare them for being a student at USF and living in the US. This required program includes your Orientation session and other events from International Services.
Glo-Bull Beginnings Week starts with your arrival to the US. Your mandatory Orientation date is Friday, January 2. Classes begin on Monday, January 5. Please plan your travel in accordance with the dates to ensure you are on campus in time to attend these events. If you are living on campus, you may move into the residence hall on Thursday, January 1.
All students identified as an international student during the admissions process are required to attend this event.
First Year Students
Friday, January 2, 2015 will be your Orientation day. During Orientation, you will be on a team with fellow students led by an Orientation Team Leader (OTL). OTLs are undergraduate students who are passionate about USF and want to make your experience great. Orientation covers a lot of topics such as academic policies, student support resources, tips on getting involved, health services and insurance, immigration services, and much more! During the day, you will build your class schedule with your academic advisor. Other programming in Glo-Bull Beginnings Week will add more details to content covered at Orientation.
Transfer Students will attend Orientation on Friday, January 2, 2015. During Orientation, you will experience what being a USF Bull is all about! Your Orientation will include information on academic policies, student support resources, getting involved on campus, health services and insurance, immigration services and much more! You will also meet your academic advisor and register for your first semester classes. During your Orientation, you will meet Transition Mentors or TMs who are undergraduate students that are here to help. Other programming in Glo-Bull Beginnings Week will add more details to content covered at Orientation. Please note that students living on campus cannot move into their residence hall until Thursday, January 1. These students should plan to stay at a local hotel when arriving to the U.S. and until that date.
The Pre-Arrival Homework is a series of short videos that will prepare you to be a student at the University of South Florida and provide you with valuable information about coming to the United States. The content will be available in late November and we will send you an email at that time.
