Families and Guests
Welcome to the Bulls Family! Your student has decided to attend USF and join the Bulls family, which means that you are a member of our family too. Family members and guests of incoming students play an important role in their student's transition to the University of South Florida. We recognize the support you need as well, so we have designed a program to meet your specific needs and concerns, whether this is your first student in college or you are an alumni of USF. During this week-long Orientation, you will have the opportunity to learn about resources available on campus, hear from your student's academic college, discover ways to help your student's success in and out of the classroom, and meet other families and guests entering the university.
We are excited for you to join us during our international student and family and guest Orientation, called Glo-Bull Beginnings Week. When your student registers for Orientation they may add you and additional guests to their reservation. If your student already registered for Orientation, but did not add a guest, they may go back in to their reservation and update it accordingly.
Glo-Bull Beginning's Week will include intentional programs and resources for incoming students and for their families and guests. Throughout the week, you will attend some sessions together and some sessions will have separate, but concurrent programming to provide a more meaningful experience for you and your student. We are confident that this model provides everyone with the most accurate and relevant information, while supporting their individual needs.
Family members attending Glo-Bull Beginnings Week with their students must make their own accommodations for an overnight stay. While your students will be staying in the Embassy Suites USF hotel, you may also contact the Embassy Suites USF hotel for availability or choose to stay in another local hotel. Be sure to ask for discounts available to USF students and families.
Family members and guests who attend the Orientation session will receive an electronic confirmation packet (in PDF form) through the student's myOrientation reservation. Please work with your student to download their e-confirmation packet, as well as the Parent and Family e-confirmation packet. This e-confirmation packet will include detailed information about the session and necessary arrival information, including a parking permit. You will receive additional details via email preparing you for your arrival prior to Orientation. Do not hesitate to reach out to our office by calling 813-974-3060 or emailing Glo-Bull Beginnings Week staff at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions you have.
