After being offered around the world for the last several years, the Project Management for Sustainable Development (PM4SD) certification was offered at the University of South Florida (USF) Patel College of Global Sustainability from August 19-22nd. PM4SD certification is international and is from APMG, one of the most prestigious certification bodies in the world. This certification is offered for current and aspiring project managers that are involved in project design, development and delivery. A PM4SD certification provides tourism professionals with knowledge on how to implement a new methodology to plan sustainable tourism projects.

The Patel College of Global Sustainability at USF collaborated with Jlag, FEST, and the Blue Community to offer the course at PCGS. PM4SD consists of two parts: the Foundation Program and the Practitioner Program. Foundation training is a prerequisite for the practitioner certification and is an intensive course that provides participants with knowledge of how to work effectively within a team to successfully deliver a sustainable tourism project. The Practitioner Training is a two day intensive course designed to equip participants with the skills to manage and deliver a sustainable project using PM4SD.
