Weekend Deliveries

The Mail Centers are closed on Sundays and do not accept deliveries outside of their operating hours. When making an order, please request in your delivery options/notes that the carrier deliver your package during the Mail Centers' operating hours.

If you have an Amazon account, you can learn how to add delivery instructions and weekend delivery preferences for your USF mailing address at this link.

USPS Mail

USPS mail is first processed by the United States Postal Service, coming through the Tampa Airport facility. Mail is then processed through the USF operated Post Office. It is from this location that mail is delivered daily to the mail centers. Mail is delivered after 10 a.m., Monday-Friday. Packages delivered to the mail center via USPS are handled through the same process as all other packages.

Priority Mail Express

Priority Mail Express that is received on Saturday morning will be made available to the residents between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and noon at the Forest Hills Station. Residents may call 813-935-3375 prior to driving to the Forest Hills Station to retrieve the Priority Mail Express. Forest Hills Station is located at 11800 North Florida Ave, Tampa Florida 33612. Priority Mail Express not retrieved during this time frame will be delivered on Monday to the USF Post Office. Please note that the Priority Mail Express will not be available on holidays: The Forest Hills Station will close on all United States Postal Service widely observed holidays.

Packages

UPS/FedEx/DHL/etc packages are delivered directly to the mail centers from the delivery truck driver. Once the packages have been delivered, they are processed by the Housing & Residential Education mail clerks. This included USPS packages. When the mail clerks have finished processing the packages, an email will be sent to the student's @usf.edu email address notifying the student that they have a package in their mail center (all specific mail center information will be in the email).

Mailboxes

Mailbox numbers and combinations (for those with a mailbox) will be available during check-in when the student receives their room key. Mailbox numbers and combinations are also available by visiting the profile information section of the Housing Portal.

Certified Mail

Please note: all USPS mail that is sent certified must be picked up from the USF Post Office AFTER receiving the certified mail notice from the north or south campus mail center.

Process:

  1. Package for resident is received by USF Post Office
  2. A notice is delivered to resident stating a package is waiting for them
  3. Resident picks up notice from their mail center and takes notice to USF Post Office
  4. USF Post Office takes notice and hands package to resident (resident must bring ID).

Mail Service FAQs

What are my mailbox combination and address?

Residents of Juniper, Poplar, and Magnolia receive their mailbox information during move-in. If you don't remember either your address or your mailbox combination, please check your profile information in the Housing Portal.

Can I pick up my roommate's mail/package?

No.

How do I open my mailbox?

Juniper-Poplar-Magnolia Mailboxes
Turn left 3 times to first number, turn right (pass the second number once), turn left to third number, turn left and pull out.

 All Other Halls
All students on the north side of campus will go to Holly H to get their mail. Students will not have a mailbox, but will go to the counter to request their mail to be retrieved. Students receiving mail will be notified by text, email, or both when a letter or package is received.

My carrier says my package has arrived but I haven't received an email. Where is it?

Please allow our staff time to process your package. Once your package is entered into our system, you will receive an automated message via email and/or text.

I was sent mail __ days/weeks ago and it's still not here. Where is it?

If mail has arrived, it is processed by our staff and either placed in your mailbox or you are emailed and/or texted a package notification. If not, it may still be in transit. If it has been a couple of weeks, UPS/FedEx/DHL have lost package forms on their websites, which can check if a package has been misplaced in transit.

Where can I send outgoing mail?

Currently the housing mailrooms do not accept outgoing mail. USF Physical Plant operates a 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. Post Office, across the street from the MSC. Other USPS services, such as boxes and stamps, are also available there. Learn more on this page.
