Departments

Undergraduate Studies provides strong set of Student Success programs designed to make it more likely that students will successfully navigate the complexities of the transition to college and the baccalaureate experience. (It integrates academic endeavors with meaningful experiences within myriad student development programs.) Together, they aim to provide coordinated opportunities for students to develop their identities and intellectual competencies for successful careers and lifelong learning.

Department Description
Academic Advocacy (OAA) The Office of Academic Advocacy (OAA) is dedicated to serving undergraduate students in their pursuit of timely progression to graduation. We work individually with students in academic distress to review their options, and we collaborate with academic departments, colleges and university personnel to improve retention and progression to graduation.
Academic Services The Office of Academic Services is the central point for the development and maintenance of USF and USF System undergraduate curricular projects and initiatives.
Academic Success Center The Academic Success Center provides tutoring, a writing studio, and a Science, Math, and a SMART Lab designed to provide hands-on learning for STEM related coursework.
Academy for Teaching and Learning Excellence (ATLE) ATLE supports faculty, instructors, adjuncts, and graduate teaching assistants on the USF Tampa campus in Academic Affairs, which includes the following colleges: Arts and Sciences, the Arts, Behavioral and Community Sciences, Business, Education, and Engineering, as well as affiliated Tampa offices such as the Patel College of Global Sustainability.
Air Force ROTC Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) is an in-college program that offers the opportunity to become a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force upon graduation. Below are a few links that will provide more information for potential cadets.
Army ROTC Army ROTC is a college elective for undergraduate and graduate students that provides unmatched leadership training. Through classes and field instruction, ROTC provides the pathway to being an Army Officer without interfering with one's studies.
College Reach-Out Program (CROP) A statewide program designed to increase the number of students who successfully enter and complete a postsecondary institution.
Community Engagement and Partnerships (OCEP) OCEP exists to expand and strengthen university–community engagement locally and globally in support of USF's strategic priorities to:
Degree Programs The Office of Undergraduate Studies manages two undergraduate degree completion initiatives, BGS and BSAS. The goal of these majors is to provide support to AS degree holders from a public community, state or junior college as well as supporting returning adult students who have earned college credit and never completed their bachelor degree.
Global Citizens Project The Global Citizens Project is a university-wide initiative aimed at enhancing undergraduate students' global competencies through the development of new and improved curricular and co-curricular experiences.
Joint Military Leadership Center (JMLC) The Joint Military Leadership Center focuses on preparing future commissioned officers to lead in a joint, multi-national environment through providing and maintaining a unique, state of the art, joint training facility for ROTC; sponsorship of joint activities; and promotion of joint planning and inter-service cooperation.
Naval ROTC The NROTC Program was established to develop midshipmen mentally, morally and physically and to imbue them with the highest ideals of duty, and loyalty, and with the core values of honor, courage and commitment in order to commission college graduates as naval officers who possess a basic professional background, are motivated toward careers in the naval service, and have a potential for future development in mind and character so as to assume the highest responsibilities of command, citizenship and government.
New Student Connections New Student Connections exists to create and support shared experiences that connect students to the USF campus and to one another.
Orientation The Office of Orientation is committed to providing all incoming students the resources to be successful. We strive to provide excellent customer service and knowledge about the University of South Florida. We provide intentional and specific programming for first year students, transfer students, international students and their families.
Parent & Family Programs  
State & Community College Relations State & Community College Relations builds collaborative relationships and shared processes with local state and community colleges to enhance the transfer process for students.
Student Support Services (SSS) The Student Support Services Program (SSS) is a federally-funded retention program that provides effective academic and personal support for a diverse student population. The program is designed to significantly increase the retention and graduation rates of its participants.
Student-Athlete Enrichment Center The Student-Athlete Enrichment Center (SAEC) is committed to academic excellence, as we provide services, programming, and guidance that is student-athlete centered and fosters academic success. We want to assist student-athletes in building character and leadership skills, position every student-athlete to graduate, and prepare them for life after sport.
Undergraduate Research (OUR) The Office for Undergraduate Research (OUR) provides a variety of services and resources to help you make informed decisions about research opportunities and to help you navigate the process of successfully obtaining a research experience.
Upward Bound Program Upward Bound at the University of South Florida is one of the eight TRIO programs funded by the United States Department of Education. Upward Bound provides fundamental support to participants in their preparation for college entrance.
