Interdic. Natural Sciences, B.S.
The Interdisciplinary Natural Sciences (INS) B.S. degree offers flexibility for the student interested in the broad spectrum of natural sciences. A Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Natural Sciences requires the student to take the introductory sequence in all of the 5 natural Sciences: Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, and Physics. After that, the program is quite flexible.
The INS degree is truly interdisciplinary. In this degree, after completing the introductory sequence in all 5 natural sciences, a student takes an additional 24 hours of 3000+ level science classes, including 8 hours from each of three different departments. As the sciences themselves become more interdisciplinary, this degree can be very useful. However, students planning on attending graduate school should meet with an advisor to choose a sequence of classes which best compliments their professional goals.
