Teacher Education Programs

The College of Education and the College of Arts & Sciences have collaborated to create an accelerated master’s program for talented students in science fields who aspire to become science and mathematics teachers. The (STAMP) allows students to complete a bachelor’s degree in a science field and earn a Master of Arts in Teaching in Science Education in a total of five years. Students who complete the program will be eligible for a Professional Florida Educator’s Certificate in one of the following subject areas:

  • Biology (grades 6-12)
  • Chemistry (grades 6-12)
  • Physics (grades 6-12)

Through the STAMP program, academically talented students are given the unique opportunity to fulfill the course requirements of their bachelor’s degree and the Master of Arts in Teaching degree on an accelerated timeline, graduating sooner than in traditional programs. The program allows students to complete a portion of the required graduate coursework while still an undergraduate student, reducing the time it takes to graduate by two semesters. Please see more information online.

To participate in the STAMP program, students must be working towards completion of an undergraduate degree in one of the following majors at USF:

  • Chemistry
  • Biomedical Sciences
  • Environmental Biology
  • Integrative Animal Biology
  • Interdisciplinary Natural Science
  • Marine Biology
  • Physics

Please see the College of Education STAMP website for details on the application process.
