The School of Information is committed to offering the highest level of online instruction to its students by incorporating the Quality Matters (QM) model into its curriculum. QM is a faculty-centered, peer review process designed to certify the quality of online and blended courses. The prestigious peer review process assesses the quality of course design using a research-based rubric.
Applying the QM Rubric
The Quality Matters evaluation rubric is primarily concerned with the presence of orienting information, such as course overviews and introductions, expectations of students, grading policies, learner support resources, etc.; clear, measurable learning objectives and alignment between objectives, instructional materials and activities, and assessments; and accessible design.
