SIGS Professor, Dr. Tatsiana Kulakevich, analyses and discuses the resuming relationship between the U.S. and Belarus in the article “Belarus and the U.S. Decided to Restore Ties After 11 years of “Frozen” Relations. Here’s Why.” For the past 11 years these relations have been on hold because in 2008 the U.S. ambassador was thrown out of Belarus after the U.S. imposed additional sanctions on Belarus for their non-free elections and deteriorating human rights situation.
