Bio
Kiersten Jensen is a visiting Professor in the School of Interdisciplinary Global Studies at the University of South Florida. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Rutgers University School of Law and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the University of South Florida.
Kiersten has specialized experience in criminal appellate law. She has drafted hundreds of appellate briefs addressing constitutional issues arising from defendants’ convictions and sentences and has made numerous appearances arguing before Florida’s Second District Court of Appeal. Her experience in appellate practice extends to advocacy in the United States Middle District and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals by responding to state prisoners’ claims arising from violations of their federal constitutional rights. Kiersten conceived of and designed the legal research and writing course currently offered at USF.
